Liquid Dialogue | Asking Questions

Initially you will choose from a list of people who have provided answers, later through search and cool visual ways will be built.

Asking A Question

Type your question into the question dialogue box, which is right under the video image, or choose (it's a bit cheating but there you go) a question from the triangle reveal to see a list of all question this person has been asked and answered.

If it looks feasible after testing, we will also include a voice interface for asking questions.

The person may be shown as a short looping video, if we include this in the brief setup process.

implementation notes

The questions are stored on YouTube with the tag #li-a appended, in the speakers (question answerer) YouTube playlist which is automatically created on setup, named LiquidDialogueAnswers

Answer Playback

This is an illustration, using me answering the question: Can you tell me about Liquid? which a user has typed/spoken.

implementation notes

Here the Liquid | Dialogue system has searched my 'LiquidDialogueAnswers' playlist for the keyword 'liquid' and the video document 'About Liquid #li-a' was fetched and will play inline:

No Answer

If the speaker has not recorded a video to a question which matches the one asked then the there is a playback of the speakers 'Not Yet Recorded Answer' video which was recorded during the brief setup.

You will also be presented with a dialogue asking: "Do you want to give this question to be answered later?" and if you click 'Yes' then that question is added to this persons queue to record.

This answer screen will have the same question dialogue box under it to let the user ask another question, as well as a 'Copy URL' button for the user to copy the URL to the YouTube page in the same format as Liquid | Flow Copy/As Citation including 'author' as the name of the person on this page.

We also plan to add options to 'Show who else has answered this question' later.

implementation notes

The management of questions is a large part of the technical system.

Questions from other users will be put in one list, questions from the user themselves another list and system-level/initial questions also in a list.

The system will store these questions and present them to the user when the user is asking questions, and manage which are answered (tick) and which are declined answers (tick and do not allow into system in the future).
